Sean Gibbs

SENIOR FISHERIES Biologist

Since joining Mount Hood Environmental in 2018, Sean has specialized in the biology of warm-water fishes and evaluating fish assemblages in streams. In addition to leading research efforts focused on predator-prey interactions between native and non-native species, Sean has lead projects involving large-scale stream surveys, water quality monitoring, and eDNA monitoring. He has extensive experience collecting and analyzing stomach contents from fish across several different families; identifying fish using meristics and diagnostic cranial bones; and using a variety of techniques to collect fish in streams containing ESA-listed species. Prior to joining MHE, Sean earned a B.S. in Fisheries, Wildlife, and Conservation Biology from the University of Minnesota, where he researched larval fish morphology and gained experience using molecular biology techniques.
